True or False astronomy question: possible trick question?

The primary purpose of an astronomical telescope is to magnify the images of distant objects, making them appear closer True or False?True or False astronomy question: possible trick question?
False.

The purpose of a telescope is to gather more light.

While it does make some things like the Moon and planets appear closer, it's ability to gather more light is more important than its magnification. . .True or False astronomy question: possible trick question?
It is false because we don't want to see them closer, we want to observe what is on the planet. and see it closer does come in the way but that is not the primary purpose. It is also to gain more light.
Have ever looked through a telescope, binoculars or even a spyglass? How about doing a simple web search on the word?
well ya
